The year was 1989, when Grammy award winner Kool Moe Dee, dropped “I Go to Work”, off of his 3rd album entitled, Knowledge is King. The 007 style cheesy video, with the beat to match was a hit from the legendary rapper. His flow and content made him a lyrical assassin. Kool Moe Dee was better known for his pubic beef with LL Cool J and as a battle rapper. What many of today’s hip hop fans missed, is that Kool Moe Dee has been around since the late 70′s – with the Treacherous Three.
Unfortunately, Kool Moe Dee did not last into the mid 90′s once the dynamic of hip hop changed into a more gangster appeal. But many of the people who grew up in the ‘Golden Age of Hip Hop”, will never forget his contributions to the genre.
